You can easily kill most green algae using 3 days black out, 2-3 days lights on cycles.
the first BO typically does not get the all the algae, it will regrow if you have not adjusted the CO2.

I battled that Aquasoil cloudy dust for 3 months in my 50 gallon. I finally bought a bottle of Seachem Clarity a couple weeks ago. Stuffed my filter with floss and did one treatment. Cleared it up...

LOL it is a ninja trick :ninja I cut a little collar of rubber tubeing that fits over the stem on the glass checker so it locks into the suction cups :stupido2:
