The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum has an aquarium to remind us that the Sonoran Desert includes the Sea of Cortez south of Arizona. The moisture coming from a huge swath of ocean makes the desert lush and green. The sub-tropical monsoon brings a lot of rain to the desert at this time of the year. Arizona received a lot of rainfall from a recent storm (remnants of Hurricane Norbert) that came from the Gulf of California. http://www.desertmuseum.org/aquarium/
